Does a change mean treatment again?

Teeth can change after a completed course; retention helps maintain their positions.

Changed fit can involve teeth, the retainer or both. Assessment checks the current teeth, bite and appliance; it does not automatically start treatment.

Is your immediate concern the retainer?

For a lost or broken retainer, contact the responsible clinical service about replacement and review arrangements.

The contact route in your current care arrangements remains separate from this guide's optional new-consultation request.

What do you want explained?

You may want to understand a concern, revisit a personal goal or compare a proposal you have already received. Name what matters to you in ordinary language. You can want an explanation before deciding on an appliance.

Read how those purposes and treatment scopes differ, then consider whether the explanation you receive addresses your own priorities.

A new decision deserves a clear explanation

Board-certified orthodontists see every SMILE-FX® patient, including at follow-ups, in a full-service practice with a digitally driven clear-aligner focus. That keeps responsibility for explaining a new goal and reviewing care with the doctor. A planning preview can make the intended change easier to discuss; it is a simulation, not a promised result. Standard smartphone monitoring supports clinical progress review alongside required visits.

Find the guide for your question

A retainer-only concern has its own holding and retainer-design explanation. If a course stopped before completion, use the unfinished-care guide. A correction during a continuing aligner plan is explained in continuing-course care. For questions about a proposal already received, see understanding an existing plan.
